Great Facilities at Southern Wings

Southern Wings Aviation College operates out of a modern, spacious building located at Invercargill Airport. Access to the college is quick and easy, just a 5 minute drive from downtown Invercargill and within walking distance. The college building was rebuilt in 1995 and has since undergone further development and upgrade. As a result, it is one of the best equipped aviation schools in New Zealand. The building contains reception, administration and operations areas and students have access to a lounge and a study area with supporting kitchen facilities. The building contains a specialised flight planning area and a suite of briefing rooms and classrooms. The hangar facility is incorporated in the building.

In addition Southern Wings has classroom facilities at the Southland Institute of Technology campus in Invercargill city. Classrooms are supported with audio and visual technology and innovative “hands on” teaching aids.

In 2010 Southern Wings established a training base at the new Manapouri Airport. The base is located in an upstairs suite overlooking one of the new purpose built hangar facilities and provides office space, classroom, briefing room and kitchen facilities.
